About Boardwalk

Come Run or Walk the Boardwalk 5K!
We invite you to bring your friends and family to the 3rd Annual Boardwalk 5K, Walk of Champions & Carnival of Activities, an exciting event to support the health and fitness programs of Seattle Public Schools with an emphasis on supporting our "under served" students. All events will begin at Husky Stadium. The Boardwalk 5K Run or Walk will traverse the scenic University of Washington campus, while the non-competitive Walk of Champions, Carnival of Activities and awards ceremony all will take place in the stadium.

Why Participate?
Regular exercise can help our kids grow into fit and healthy adults by reducing their risk of a wide range of health problems such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure. Exercising can become a habit that will provide them with a lifetime of benefits – a lifetime of benefits can start at Husky Stadium on April 27th, 2008.

What are your dollars going to?
Funds will be used to support and expand equipment for the Physical Education Equipment Resource Center (PEERC). PE teachers share everything from archery equipment to roller skates to unicycles. PEERC makes it possible for all students to have access to success-oriented fitness experiences.

The Boardwalk, a fundraiser for School Kids Come First (www.schoolkidscomefirst.com), is open to all ages and ability levels. So come on out and run, race, walk, jog or crawl and have a great time while supporting a great cause.

About School Kids Come First:
School Kids Come First is a web site focused primarily on the needs of under served schools in the Seattle Public School District. The goal of this site is to help raise money for experiences and enhancements for students that help supplement students work in the classroom.
