If you work directly with students in the Seattle Public Schools, this is your place, and we need your dreams. We actually can connect you with the donors out there who want to give your students the education you imagine.
SchoolKidsComeFirst is inspired by and modeled on a similar site that has raised $2 million for New York City schools in three years. With your projects to inspire our donors, it can happen here, too.
Here’s how it works:
As a teacher (principal, counselor, coach, librarian,…), you have a project you want to do that directly involves and benefits your students, but is not regularly funded by the Seattle School District.
You fill out a Teacher Proposal form and submit it to SchoolKidsComeFirst.
We verify the information and post the project on our site for donors to see and contribute to.
When your project is fully funded, SchoolKidsComeFirst purchases the materials and has them delivered to your school, or makes payment arrangements with transportation companies or other organizations as needed.
You don’t have to handle procurement at all.
SchoolKidsComeFirst will ask you to help us thank the donors who funded your project, either by signing a thank-you card or letter or by providing a story about how your students reacted to or benefited from the project. We may also ask to take some pictures as appropriate.
If you would like to submit a proposal, please click on the link to the left.
If you have more questions, please look through our Teacher FAQs and then contact us if you still have questions. We’re here to help you.
