Olympic Hills Elementary school has a goal of providing Instrumental Music Instruction to EVERY child in our 4th and 5th grades. Many of our students qualify for the federal free/reduced lunch program, which means that their families cannot afford to rent or purchase instruments. Accordingly, we endeavor to purchase musical instruments and loan them, for free, to our students. As a result of our program, over 90% of our intermediate-grade students learn to play instruments! Our students come from 30 countries and speak many languages, but the common language is MUSIC!
Our instruments receive a lot of love (i.e., wear and tear), and after 7-10 years of use they need to be replaced. We are in need of clarinets, flutes, drums, violins and trumpets. We do not receive any federal, state, or local funds for the purchase of instruments. We depend completely on donors such as you to purchase new instruments and keep our current inventory repaired. Your donation will provide an instrument to many years of student musicians who would otherwise never have a chance to play and perform.
We can purchase one instrument from Interstate Music for a base cost of $250, for a project cost of $287.50 including shipping and handling, tax, and 15% fulfillment.
Please help us add one more instrument that will support our music program for many years to come. Thank you!
